WHY I STARTED ELIROSE SKINCARE

Since my teenage years, I have experienced skin problems from excessive dry skin to eczema and acne. I was told it was due a hormonal imbalance caused by endometriosis and a strong medication will cure all my skin problems [but it never did]. The battle continued for years, following me all the way from Montreal to London spread across 6 flats, 1 house and 2 dogs picked up along the way. I soon realised there are so many factors that can affect your skin; water hardness causing dryness, pollution blocking pores and causing acneic skin as well as the constant back and forth of hormonal imbalances, the list went on. However, none of the reasons I would learn about was more shocking then when I started to investigate the ingredients list of the‘natural’ skincare products I was applying to my face every morning and night for the last 13 or so years. I learnt that NEARLY all these huge, famous brands and household names in skincare actually add significant amounts of parabens and synthetic ingredients in the interest of preserving shelf life for commercial interests and use a combination of natural and cheap ingredients to lower the cost of production. Feeling a little bit deceived I started looking for a 100% organic with NONE of these harmful ingredients in, but found to my dismay that even skincare companies which had similar messages to this one could still claim to be natural as long as their products contained at least JUST 1% of natural ingredients. Which means that 99% could STILL be ingredients such as artificial fragrance, petrochemicals, parabens as well as phthalates.

It appeared that these “natural” beauty companies all prioritised product longevity, shelf life and regulation for cash flow as being more important than the side effects.

That’s why I created EliRose Skincare – taking 6 years of working closely with a team of chemists and 2 long years of testing to develop and launch our Nourishing Organic Serum. We have finally been able to produce a 100% certified organic serum using only organic and natural occurring substances from UK based producers, also certified organic.  Learn more below.

NATURAL FORMULA VS ORGANIC FORMULA

In order to be able to claim and be certified organic, our skincare products have to contain at least 95% of organic ingredients. However, a natural skincare company can claim to be natural even if they only use 1% of natural ingredients. That is why we are certified 100% organic by both COSMOS and the Soil Association.

WELL-KNOWN ”NATURAL” BEAUTY COMPANY

As you can see from the photos I suffered from eczemaacne and sensitive skin. The “natural” skincare products I was using to treat any of these skin problems were only making the appearance of my skin worse. Which is when I really started paying more attention to the ingredients list of all these so-called ”natural” skincare products. A well-used synthetic ingredient called ISOBUTYLPARABEN, contained in some skincare products, is scored as being “high hazard” according to EWGAlso, from strong evidence, it was proven as being a human toxicant and unsafe to wildlife. Why use toxic ingredients when you can benefit from using pure botanical ingredients!

ELIROSE ORGANIC SKINCARE

We strongly believe that our skin, health and the environment can benefit from using organic ingredients without all the synthetic ingredients. Thus, this pure organic serum is made without: Parabens, water, PEGs, GMO, fragrances, petroleum, silicone, sulphates, gluten, mineral oils and any other skin irritants. We think it is important to be an authentic and a honest beauty company that is safe for our customers’ health and the environment.
